Establishing of Geodetic Control Reference of Khartoum State

In order to build a New Geodetic Reference based on ITRF, to be used for horizontal and vertical Mapping reference within Khartoum State, MIERAG have been contracted by Ministry of Planning and Public Utilities to establish ITRF reference X,Y,Z points and 32 well distributed points within rural area of Khartoum for vertical control.  The scope of the project was to establish eight GPS control points tied to the International GNSS Service (IGS) network. The points have located in and around the city of Khartoum in locations suitable for GPS observation. A combination of Leica and Trimble dual frequency GPS receivers has been used for observation. The observation strategy was to measure each point for at least twenty four hours.

Bernese GNSS processing software was used to process the data.  Accurate results, beyond what is usually expected have been resulted.

Prices levelling have been done to establish 32 vertical control points distributed among the state. 

This is a sample of Establishing Geodetic Reference points. MIERAG has established several geodetic reference Points within the projects assienments. We have established the reference control in Red sea State, North Kurdfan, West Kurdfan, Gadarif  and Gazira States.

Ordinary Land Survey

Over 60 projects of ordinary survey type have been done by MIERAG. They are mainly caracterized by Road Surveying for Road design, Site Surveying, Land Survey and levelling for Agricultural Projects and canalization, Surveying for town planining and topgraphic mapping, Detail Surveying of as Built Utilities Networks, Photo Control Observation, and engineering Survey.

Generating of Contour Maps

MIEARG has great experiences in generating of contour maps from different sources for different purposes. Many projects involving generating of Contour maps for engineering works such as, topographic study for agriculture projects and irrigation design, longitudinal and x-section Profiles, and site Survey for evaluation of water intake,….etc. have been carried out by MIERAG.  We have executed serval projects including generating of Contour maps for surface water drainage, Catchment area evaluation, and topographic studies.
